Let’s face it: Potluckiest would not be able to call itself a true collection of party favorites without including this extremely popular kind of dip. Most versions of this dish, though, call for it to be served warm, frequently advising to bring a crock pot to keep the dip hot at the party. Which is great, and we totally support that. But we wanted our recipe to taste good whether it’s warm, room temperature, or even cold. (It’s creamier the warmer it gets, of course, but it has so much flavor that even when it’s cold it’s irresistible.)

Our recipe includes instructions for creating crostini to go with it, but you could opt instead to bring hearty store-bought dippers like pita chips or kettle chips.

Gluten-free or on a keto diet? Ditch the carbs and pair the dip instead with veggie sticks.
