We learned about this ingenious trick from our 8-year-old’s friend’s parents: when they have a gathering of kids and need to feed them, they take a package of Hawaiian sweet rolls, slice the rolls through the middle while they’re all still attached to each other, and open up the two big halves. Then they spread PB&J across the bottom half, reassemble the two halves, and kids pull off the tasty little sandwiches one by one.

Aside from slicing open the bunch of rolls, this is a super-easy recipe for kids to help make. While PB&J is always great, we thought we’d do something a little different, combining kids’ love of sandos with their love of pizza. Voilà: pizza sliders. And now that you know this ingenious trick too, you and your co-chef can come up with your own creative fillings as well.

PS: If you want to get super-fancy, forgo the store-bought rolls and make your own pull-apart rolls.
