This recipe is proof that a dish doesn’t have to be fancy to be impressive at a party. And it’s so easy and quick that even young kids can make it mostly by themselves. With a little help from a grown-up to melt the chocolate, it’s just a matter of creating layers of kettle corn, mini marshmallows, and artfully (or not!) drizzled chocolate.
Want to get fancy? You can make the marshmallows yourself (recipe coming soon!) and/or you can make your own kettle corn. Each of those requires a bit or a lot more help from a grown-up, though homemade marshmallows are so, so, so, so much better than store-bought. But store-bought is perfectly good for this recipe.
Serves 15 people
Ingredients
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 7 oz kettle corn
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 t coarse salt

- When chocolate has melted, arrange half of the kettle corn and marshmallows in a layer in a 9×13 casserole dish.
- Drizzle half of the melted chocolate over the kettle corn and marshmallows.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 once more.
- Sprinkle coarse salt over the top.
- Refrigerate uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Seal tightly with plastic wrap to bring to the party along with a serving spoon for partygoers to scoop out.
